I'm Esperanza C., the breeder behind Brangus Ranch located in Mabank, TX. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish all of our animals and enjoy sharing the love of an Australian Shepherd with other individuals and families!
Q. & A. with Esperanza
Why did you start breeding?
Having a huge land we knew we needed companions by our side of course.
After a few attempts with other breeds who wouldn't stay home, liked to wander off, be gone for half a day and not listen to our commands, we finally came across the Australian Shepherd and Corgi.
Both herding breeds and have been the best companions we could ask for. They are therapeutic to our children as well as to us. They love to cuddle up and nap with us in our home or just lay and relax next to us, but they also love to be outdoors and help herd our cattle, horses and our children 😉 They are always by our side looking out for any cows that may be acting grumpy. They help load our live stock as well. Our pets are indoor and outdoor, always welcomed in our home and when out doors they never leave our site. Our pets are great with strangers they are well socialized, they love our cats and cuddle up with them! To us they are the best! The sweetest, lovable, smart, obedient and couldn't live without them anymore. For that and many other reasons we breed for Australian Shepherds and Corgis
What makes your program special?
We are always striving to better our program. We are genetically testing our sires and dams to ensure they are in good health. All our puppies will be socialized with small children, cats and other pets, they will have vaccines up to date, be on a deworming schedule, have a veterinary well check and be potty trained before leaving for their new homes.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Brangus Ranch reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
