I'm Yvette T., the breeder behind Briar Oaks located in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a family hobby. Our dogs are family first, show dogs second. Q. & A. with Yvette

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first collie in 1982 & had my first litter in 1985. Finished her championship in 1987. I started breeding for my next possible show dog. That is the only reason we are breeding to this day is for the next possible show dog.
  • What makes your program special?

We show in Conformation, therefore we are breeding for Quality, Health & Temperaments. Our goal is to help improve on the breed. All appropriate DNA testing has been done. Puppies will have their eyes checked by Board Certified Ophthalmologist & MDR1 testing.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are sable and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
