I'm Barbara L., the breeder behind Briarwood Dachshunds located in Obsidian, ID. We fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that we do!
Q. & A. with Barbara
Why did you start breeding?
Approximately 30 years ago I met a breeder of Dachshunds and fell in love. I bred for a couple of years and then again for last 5+ years. I decided to breed Dachshunds for the love of the breed and my love for people, enjoying making them happy.
What makes your program special?
Most special because I'm home based with my dogs living in my home and being family members. I am NOT in it for the money but for the love. I listen to the people's wants and desires. If I don't have it or will never have it I try my hardest to direct them to good quality & trustworthy breeders.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
