We’re proud of the healthy, affectionate, and behaviorally well-rounded puppies we raise for other families to love! Over the years we’ve learned valuable methods for socializing our puppies. “Puppies come with their AKC registration, first shots, regular deworming, tails and dewclaws done by our vet, vet checked, microchipped, 2 year genetic health guaretee, puppy contract, puppy folder and goody bag, lifetime breeder support. The deposit is non refundable but can be transferred to a future litter/puppy if circumstances change.”

Program update on 04 July 2025 •…Took Luffy & Prim to meet up with Luna at the park last weekend! Luffy was able to convince every person that she showed her frisbee to to throw it for her. And it was a lot of people 😂 She was a happy dog 🐶🐾 Luffy will be our next momma pending her final OFA hip and elbow results!

Litter update on 15 Nov 2024 •…🥔Firefly’s Potato Litter🥔 is being introduced to some toys and is started on puppy gruel as we begin the weening process. Personalities are coming out. Wedge is such a character already 😂

Gilliene has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

About Luffy
Luffy is our sweet, friendly and happy go lucky girl. She’s full of personality and constantly makes us laugh with her silly antics. She rarely meets a stranger and loves to tag along with me to work at the Veterinary Hospital. She is well loved by all my co-workers and often helps brighten the mood and our days. She accepts hugs, snuggles and kisses from just about everyone and we often hear from people that meet her that she makes them want to get a Mini American Shepherd. She loves children and our cat and is friendly with other dogs. Luffy stands at 15 1/4” and just 18lbs making her the smallest of my dogs. She has earned her Novice Trick Dog title and she is proving herself in the show ring where she is major pointed with minimal showing. We plan to continue to work toward her AKC Championship title as well as introduce her to FastCAT.

Firefly is the princess of our household. She can do no wrong and we adore her for it. Calm and easygoing, eager to please, as smart as they get. She conquers everything I’ve ever put her up to; sports, trick training, herding, dog shows. She will do anything for me and find joy in it.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Every aspect of the adoption process with Gilliene was outstanding! I knew we could rely on her when she explained she prioritized temperament over coat color for matching pups to families. This is a breeder who loves her dogs and truly wants nothing but the best for the puppies in her program. Communication was timely and thorough. When we picked up our lil’ guy he came with the full puppy starter kit and a binder full of all his documentation and the sweetest baby pics. I was pretty floored (in the best way) by the care and attention she put into every piece of the process. Our guy has been a perfect fit in our family and we are so thankful to have found Bright Heart. I can’t imagine going anywhere else, now. Gilliene has set the standard so high! 11/10 would recommend (and have already - every chance I get)!!

+6Gilliene was very thorough and put together a nice binder with all of the puppy's paperwork, baby pictures, health information, etc. It's clear that she really cares about her dogs and putting them in the right families.
