I'm Penny A., the breeder behind Broken Arrow Australian Shepherds located in Hico, TX. We produce dual registered AKC/ASCA Australian Shepherds. Our dogs are family first! A Broken Arrow dog is genetically health tested - a joy to live with and capable of doing any job, task, or lifestyle with his/her new family. What makes your program special?
Our commitment is to continue to improve the next generations through our education in testing and adhering to the AKC/ASCA breed standard. All of our dogs have extensive health certifications to ensure their puppies have healthy, happy homes for years to come.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red & white, black & white, black, red merle, blue merle, red, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Penny
Penny has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 deposit and between $1,200 - $1,600 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price range includes a 2 year guarantee against any genetic health issues, appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and health certification. This also includes crate, leash, & potty training. Deposits are taken to ensure a spot is held for a puppy in a litter. If the desired puppy isn't available - the deposit is then rolled to the next available litter and pick.”

health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps
protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you
both have a clear understanding of the terms of your
puppy purchase. If Penny offers a contract
or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
