Why did you start breeding?
In 1998 we bought our first dachshund “RahRah”, a mini wirehaired dog. He was just a pet, not breeding stock, but we loved him and his personality so much we thought we would like to try to breed miniature wirehaired show dogs. That was the start of a very big change in our lives. We found that we really loved the breed and enjoyed the sport of dogs very much.What makes your program special?
We have been breeding dachshunds for several decades. Not only do our dogs produce big wins in the show ring, but they have made some loving families very happy. We focus on optimal health and behavior. When you choose Brownwood dachshunds, you are choosing a dog that has been carefully bred with expertise and love.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
