Meet the breeder

I'm Elizabeth S., the breeder behind Butterbean Dachshunds located in Fallon, NV. Our puppies are hands on socialized around children, dogs, cats, poultry, household sounds, crates and puppy pads. Breeding dogs receive Embark DNA screening to guide thoughtful pairings. Puppies go home, vaccinated, dewormed, with records and a starter bag.

Q. & A. with Elizabeth

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding began from a genuine love of dogs and grew into years of hands on experience raising litters and learning what goes into producing happy, well adjusted puppies. Dachshunds eventually became our focus because of their huge personalities, intelligence, loyalty, and unmistakable charm.
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are raised closely with our family, not simply housed and handled. We focus on temperament, early socialization, health, and thoughtful pairings, including Embark DNA screening. Puppies are exposed to real household life and many different animals, giving them a confident, adaptable start before going home.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
