Planned German Shepherd litter
Due June 2026
I'm Krista K., the breeder behind By My Side Germans Shepherds & Dobermans located in Coplay, PA. My name is Krista and I am currently a certified trainer, AKC evaluator, and proud owner of beautiful Dobermans and LC Shepherds. When I was young, it was a dream to have a GSD and when I had the first chance at the age of 18, I took it. I got a female and named her Iris. She was my world. At the time, I had no idea what it meant to make a purchase like this and quickly learned not all purebreds are created equal. While Iris was so sweet and perfect for my life at the time, I knew little then, that she was far from what a GSD should really be. As Iris had aged years later, I then got a Doberman, named Lily. She was a lot to say the least! I had never worked with such a high energy dog and with raising her, I realized just how much time and training a dog could need. I loved it so much, that it lead me to become a trainer. On my journey to getting my certification, I continued to learn about dogs with poor predisposed temperaments and personalities, leaving owners with a lifetime of struggle to commit to a dog they didn’t have the means to fulfill. I also learned how much I love the Doberman breed and have acquired several since and started volunteering for a Doberman rescue to help find the best homes suitable for surrendered Dobermans! Within this time, is when I decided to partner with BMS to own the first GSD of the program (Everest), and Ariel (Doberman). From the moment I got them, they have surpassed any dogs I’ve trained or owned. While they differ due to their drives and purpose, they are both confident, driven, biddable, and have been the perfect dog for every scenario in my life. Each step of the way with them has only proved how much value they may contribute to their breeds. I believe adding a new companion should be fun and as predictable as owning a dog could be. That is the goal with our program!

Krista has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Krista partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“We have a carefully thought out process for matching puppies to approved homes. When raising puppies, we are constantly observing and tracking their behaviors from days to weeks old. Each puppy evolves differently which makes them unique! We take into account everything from their drive, resilience abilities, energy levels, to their individual quirks. When we have an established idea of their personalities here between 6-8 weeks, we will discuss with each owner to decide on the best possible match. Temperament testing and evaluations do not predict exactly what a puppy will mature into, but rather give us valuable information on the approach, raising, and training they could need to reach their full potential. We want both puppies and their owners to be the best possible match for each other. ”

“The base price depends on the breed and includes limited AKC registration, first rounds of vaccination, and lifetime support I am able to offer. A puppy comes with a copy of vaccination and deworming records, and a small portion of food to transition them from. Puppies are homed when ready at 8-10 weeks of age. Should you see the cost of the puppy higher than the base cost noted, it will be if the pup is over 8 weeks of age. The older they are - the more training, time, and cost is invested in ensuring each continue on the path of developing into a confident, well-rounded pup! The deposit along with the agreement of contract, allows us to reserve the puppy matched for you.”
Krista may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Krista offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Krista directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.

Spotlight puppy alert! Today is Vivienne. She can’t help but lay on something and prop her head up 😂 Vivienne is pretty independent so unless she is laying on her sisters or some obstacle, you will find her laying on her own content as ever.

Spotlight puppy alert! Today is Francesca. She is usually pretty quiet and I was surprised to hear her dramatic performance this morning. I fed them around 7 like usual and mom filled in the gap. Well, not even an hour later, I hear non stop crying. I walked in to it being Francesca so I ignored it knowing she ate well and filled her belly. Well, she didn’t stop so I figured maybe she didn’t get enough. Took them out of the box, put down a meal and she barely even touched it and went right to walking on the wobble board and exploring. This girl just wanted out 😂 needless to say, they went back in the box and she cried until she settled back down.

We switched to kibble/raw/goats milk much this morning and the girls are loving it!

Time flies! These little girls are loving their meals and doing such a good job weaning. They are still chunky butts wanting all the milk they can get from mom though 😂

Doberman Pinscher
About Venom
This is Venom! He is one of our males we have added to our program as he offers beautiful structure, and low COI of 23% to help add in greater breed genetic diversity. He is an all around outgoing boy! He enjoys attention whether it be from people or playing with other dogs of both genders and all sizes. He even likes playing gently with the cats he lives with! He is energetic, eager to please, and and your typical attention seeking Doberman. He has a really nice demeanor to be versatile whether at home with his owner relaxing or traveling on adventures. He has had his hips, elbows, and thyroid tested so far and we are awaiting his auscultation/echo and holter which we will post when done!

About Ariel
This is Ariel! If you know Doberman lines well, she traces back to the original war dogs and also traces back to Cambria Dobermans not too far back in her pedigree. While she can’t be shown because of her color, that does not hinder her worthiness in structure, health, and temperament that she will contribute! We primarily selected her to be in the program as one of our top goals with her is to add breed genetic diversity in lowering COI (hers is 28%), while decreasing health risks this breed has been prone to over the years. Ariel is unstoppable with the training and time put into her. She is resilient, energetic, extremely handler focused, and always ready to work. Despite her abundance of energy, she is great at settling in her crate whether at home or during training sessions waiting her turn to perform. We have started agility, dock diving, and continue working her with obedience as working for food is her ABSOLUTE favorite. In addition, she is such a great demo dog helping me teach my group dog training classes. She is everything I have wanted in a Doberman to be stable yet also ready to alert, be focused and the deterrent she should be when expected. She also has her CGC and VHMA titles, and we are hoping to compete in agility when we are ready. She has completed all her health testing and we are so excited to see what she will produce!

About Bam
Bam is an import from Germany and I got him at the age of 2. He has been a dream since I got him and proved how he will contribute to the breed from day one. He adjusted quickly to my home with new people, dogs, and was ready to train, travel, and be a demo dog for the group training classes I teach. He has such a calm demeanor and drive that is easily channeled and directed to activities we do like neighborhood walks, fetch, obedience, dock diving, and more! He is also so sweet and naturally gentle with children, and is one of the highlights at every get together with my family.

About Everest
This is Everest! She was selected as a puppy to be the first GSD in our program, and she has always been a breeze to train and acclimate to any new scenario for the very beginning. Her favorite activity would be tending herding as she has received a certificate proving she has the natural ability to do that type of job. Since I do not have or plan on getting sheep, activities for her include long walks, food lure training, fetch, hiking, and road trips. She is also the best dog I’ve ever owned when it comes to easy desensitization. She could care less about loud household items, enjoys hanging out in the presence of fireworks, and can even hangout in the midst of chaos. She too is very gentle natured with children and people in general. She is overall one of the most loving and easy family companions to tag along on any adventure!
