I'm Paige C., the breeder behind C4 Kennels of FL & AL located in Crestview, FL. We breed NALC & UKC registered working, health tested, and titled Catahoula Leopard Dogs. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and drive. They are conformationally correct and intelligent. We only breed dogs out of proven working lines. They excel in all aspects of work and agility. We strive to place dogs in working homes with owners who are knowledgeable and experienced.

Why did you start breeding?
I grew up on a working cattle ranch where we owned and utilized working dogs. I have always shared the passion for raising, training, and working dogs that my family has had for generations.What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special because we ensure that we only breed high-quality, high-drive, healthy, and intelligent animals. We match our puppies with compatible homes that meet their needs. We do not sell our dogs to just anyone, as money is not our first priority. We care for our animals tremendously, and only want the absolute best for them. Our puppies are exposed to Early Neurological Stimulation exercises, Early Scent Introduction, and socialization.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Boykin Spaniel puppies are liver. Catahoula Leopard Dog puppies include red merle, red, blue merle, blue, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

“We breed our dogs when we want to keep puppies for ourselves. As a strenuous working dog kennel, we strive for qualities that match the needs of our program. Because of this, we will monitor our litters for as long as necessary to make our picks. This also means that your puppy is exposed to a foundation of basic obedience, sounds, different tactile sensations, and environmental experiences that help shape confident, well-rounded working dogs. For this reason, we do not allow buyers to select puppies based solely on color, markings, or order of deposit. Puppies are evaluated over time for temperament, drive, structure, and working ability. We take these factors—as well as the goals, experience level, and lifestyle of each buyer—into careful consideration when matching puppies with their future homes. Our priority is placing the right puppy in the right home so that both the dog and the owner are set up for long-term success. Final puppy selections are made by us once evaluations are complete. Buyers will, of course, be involved in the process and kept updated on the litter’s development.”

“Price includes a Florida health certificate, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, health guarantee, puppy pack, registration, copies of parents’ health documents, and a lifetime of breeder support. The deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to the next available litter.”

Litter update on 20 Apr •…On Saturday we began Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises, which are performed from the third day of life through the sixteenth day. Most of you are already familiar with these exercises, but I like to take a moment with each litter to explain them for those who are new to our program and may not know what ENS is. Originally developed by the U.S. Military to enhance the performance of future working dogs, ENS has been shown to produce several long-term benefits. Puppies exposed to ENS often demonstrate improved cardiovascular performance (heart rate), stronger heart function, stronger adrenal glands, increased tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease. Secondary benefits include an increased ability to remain calm under pressure and improved problem-solving skills. Alongside ENS, we are also beginning Early Scent Introduction (ESI). During this stage, each puppy is gently exposed to a new scent daily, allowing them to begin forming critical neural pathways related to scent detection and discrimination. This early exposure helps build confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for future working ability. For our program, scents are intentionally selected to reflect real-world application. Puppies are introduced to natural working scents such as deer hooves from fleeing mortally wounded deer, wild boar, and other game-related materials, giving them early familiarity with the types of scents they may encounter later in the field. For us, these early interventions are a small but important part of raising well-rounded, capable dogs that are mentally, physically, and instinctively ready for the working field.

She is very well started in bird hunting and has demonstrated the intelligence, drive, and biddability that make the Boykin Spaniel such a versatile hunting companion. Brandy has a strong desire to retrieve, works with enthusiasm in the field, and continues to advance through consistent training. She is currently working toward earning hunt titles to showcase her abilities and preserve the working heritage of the breed. At C4 Kennels, we believe a hunting dog should first and foremost prove itself in the field, and Brandy embodies the qualities we strive to produce - sound temperament, trainability, athleticism, and a genuine passion for the hunt. As a bonus, Brandy is titled in precision coursing, has points towards her conformation Championship title, is genetically health tested, and will be fully health tested once she is old enough.

Very easy to handle and gentle natured boy with a working drive that’s out of this world. Roo tracks deer, bays hogs, is heavily started in hog hunting, is titled in precision coursing, and pointed towards his Champion title in UKC conformation. My children handle him daily on and off lead. He is a gentle soul but strives to work and is very protective of his people. Roo’s full siblings are doing very well in the woods, both hog hunting and tracking deer. Roo is cleared for all inherited diseases via parentage.

He has an unbelievable amount of drive and puts his heart into everything that is asked of him. He is easily one of the best working dogs I’ve ever had the privilege of handling — exceptional in temperament, proven in the woods, and consistently producing offspring that carry his quality forward (and then some). He is protective of his family and absolutely adores the children.

Fancy’s parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. are all actively hog hunting with great success.

Cricket is easy to handle and very willing to please. Her full siblings are hunting full time and doing very well in the woods. My young children handle Cricket daily on and off lead. Cricket is genetically cleared for inherited diseases via parentage and is B/B via GenSol.

Dembe is NALC & UKC registered. He is a certified blood tracking dog, holding his UBT-1 title. Dembe has a high pray drive and will hog hunt, tree coons, and take down coyotes. Dembe is the epitome of the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog standard. Dembe is NOT a natural bob-tail. He had a working accident that resulted in his tail being amputated. He will not pass this trait onto his puppies.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
