I'm Maria R., the breeder behind Cabrera Family Kennels located in Modesto, CA. At Cabrera Family Kennels, our dogs are family first. Every puppy is raised in our home with love, daily socialization, and hands-on care from the very beginning. Our goal is to raise healthy, well-socialized puppies that are ready to become lifelong companions. We believe that bringing a puppy home is more than just a purchase, it's welcoming a new family member. That's why we take the time to ensure each puppy is given the best possible start in life and thoughtfully matched with the family that's right for them. We are dedicated to responsible breeding practices, open communication, and supporting our puppy families every step of the way. Nothing brings us more joy than watching our puppies grow and seeing the happiness they bring to their forever homes.

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, fawn (isabella) and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Maria

Maria has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Maria partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Before going home, each puppy will receive their first set of vaccinations and a complete veterinary health exam. Every puppy also goes home with a puppy starter pack filled with supplies to help make the transition into their forever home as easy and comfortable as possible. 🐾. To reserve a puppy from one of our litters, a $500 non-refundable retainer is required. This retainer secures your place in the selection order and is applied toward the total purchase price. The remaining balance is due upon pickup.”

Maria may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA), Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
