I'm Patty P., the breeder behind Cairns of Lovat located in Eagan, MN. I am dedicated to continuing my phenomenal lines in an effort to provide families with loving, healthy, and happy puppies. My puppies leave for their new homes with a solid foundation of training and socialization, and I strive for quality and excellence with everything that I do.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I had been around breeding of quality dogs since a child with my aunt who raised and showed Miniature Schnauzers. Being around such beautiful animals, I wanted to do my best to continually improve the health and quality of the Cairn Terrier.
  • What makes your program special?

    My goal is to breed the healthiest, structurally sound, adhering to the breed standard, and well-rounded personalities as possible.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Patty

Patty has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 deposit and $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes: first round of vaccinations, deworming, dew claw removal, microchipped, socialization, beginnings of housetraining, beginnings of leash training and more. All deposits are accepted once puppies are born and deemed healthy. Deposits are refundable up to 6 weeks of age, after which it is no longer refundable.”

Contract & health guarantee

Patty may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Brucellosis, Serum Bile Acid Test

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Globoid Cell Leukodystrophy (GCL), Terrier Type
