I'm Jodie S., the breeder behind Calabrone Australian Shepherds located in North Carolina. We are a small hobby kennel with a love for Australian Shepherds. We show our dogs in Conformation, Obedience, Agility, Rally and Herding but the most important feature is they are healthy, happy pets. Our dogs are pets first and live in the house with us and have OFA, CERF and other genetic testing. We are participating members of USASA and ASCA and our dogs are AKC and ASCA registered.
Q. & A. with Jodie
Why did you start breeding?
After over twenty years in horses, I decided a change was needed and decided to pursue the dog world. Because I was not sure if I wanted to do conformation or agility or obedience I wanted a dog that could do it all and obviously the Aussie was a natural place to go.
What makes your program special?
In a short time we have gained success in the show ring and the performance ring, but more importantly our dogs and their kids are wonderful ambassadors. We always keep up with the goings on of ALL of our Aussies. We are so blessed to have great friends and great dogs. Winning is just icing on the cake!
