I'm Donna B., the breeder behind Capital Pomsky located in Leesburg, VA. Our dogs are bred to provide families w/a lifetime of joy. This means parents with a great temperament & good genetics to produce puppies w/ the same. Pomskies come in different colors & we strive to keep to the breed standard in terms of size & shape. Ours are chocolate & b/w with husky markings.
Q. & A. with Donna
Why did you start breeding?
I planned to breed Shih Tzus over 30 yrs ago but the timing with life & work was not right to devote to the dogs. Fast forward and now my life has aligned perfectly. I researched for 5 years and got to know the Pomsky breeder community and over time I began working with two established breeders. One who started the International Pomsky Association and who is very good a canine genetics.
What makes your program special?
One-on-one attention to the dogs and puppies from the second they are born. I treat each pup as if I just bought him myself. I train the pups to be great pets not just pretty puppies and I carefully select the right families. I also keep in touch after the pups go home and I’ve formed some really nice friendships in the process!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Pomsky puppies include toy and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Pomeranian puppies include black and blue. Pomsky puppies include white, black and white, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Working with Donna was a real pleasure and made the adoption process a breeze! Not only is she super responsive, Donna is also very knowledgeable about the breed. She was also very accommodating, allowing us to come meet the pups before making a decision and working with us on a transfer date/time/location that worked for us, even when she had to shuffle some things around. She’s also very connected post-adoption!

Donna was very helpful. I was impressed! She sent pictures and video of our little guy and when we arrived to pickup our new family member she had everything we needed. We didn't expect the cute blanket or toys. She even check in on his progress after we took him home.
