I'm Tawnya P., the breeder behind Caprock Mini & Toy Aussies located in Ada, OK. Caprock Mini Aussies prides itself on offering healthy, family-friendly dogs that can excel in multiple different environments; from kid-friendly pets/hiking/jogging companions to conformation/agility show prospects. All Caprock pups are raised in home and are bred from ASDR Champions &/or Lines.
Q. & A. with Tawnya
Why did you start breeding?
Over a decade ago, I bought a dog for my parents from a local breeder. I got to know the breeder well and helped her socialize her litters for the next few years. The year I graduated college, she decided to retire from breeding and asked me to carry on her bloodlines and program name. My stud is a pup from her last litter and the basis of Caprock Mini Aussies as we know it today.
What makes your program special?
Our program is 100% in-home and we offer breeder support for LIFE. We keep our numbers small and we focus on putting out well-handled and socialized pups that are invested into. We show champion titles and conduct full panel genetic disease tests on all of our adults. Puppies are toddler/family-friendly and well used to being handled. THEY ARE SO VERY LOVED!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Caprock Mini & Toy Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Miniature Australian Shepherds.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
