Meet the breeder

I'm Amy C., the breeder behind Capstone Scottish Terriers located in Worthington, OH. I'm a certified dog behavior consultant and certified professional dog trainer, and focus on breeding Scotties with outstanding health, conformation and performance sport drive and ability. We breed a litter very rarely and with careful planning. Our dogs do it all!

Q. & A. with Amy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started breeding because I find Scotties to be an absolute joy to train and work with, and being able to produce puppies who are well-socialized and confident in the world is thrilling!
  • What makes your program special?

Because I raise my puppies to be thinking creatures who want to work with and for humans, they make great pets. I focus on socialization, problem solving and building resilience using both Puppy Culture and Avidog, and begin training them as soon as they can take soft food. By 5 weeks old, they're already accustomed to riding in the car in crates, nail trims, and visiting family members' houses.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include wheaten, black brindle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
