Meet the breeder

I'm Carol J., the breeder behind Carol Jansen's Cascadian Springer Spaniels located in Salem, OR.

Q. & A. with Carol

  • Why did you start breeding?

I purchased a Springer that was a wonderful obedience dog and I had no intention of showing in the breed ring, but I tried it and liked it. When I lost all the time I decided to improve what I had and bred her. I got more and more involved with performance, obedience, agility, rally and barn hunt. I eventually purchased a show prospect, finished her championship and continued breeding, love it
  • What makes your program special?

Puppies are raised in my home. I sleep next to the whelping box for two weeks, then a week in the same room as they transition to the pen. I follow Puppy Culture curriculum so they get exposed to a lot of different educational toys, surfaces and noises. They are exposed to clippers and toe nail clippers at two weeks to get them used to the sound and feel.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include liver and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
