Meet the breeder

I'm Acacia S., the breeder behind Carrotwood Australian Shepherds located in Kenton, TN. It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.

Q. & A. with Acacia

  • Why did you start breeding?

We brought home our first aussies in 1995 straight off a working cattle ranch. While the breed has changed a bit since then our aussies now are the direct descendants of those original cattle dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

Our lines have produced everything from service dogs to working farm dogs to Agility Trial Champions and the #1 Ranked Aussie at Dock Dogs Worlds in 2016 & 2017. We show in Obedience, Rally, Scent Work, FastCat, Agility, BarnHunt and Dock Diving. Our dogs live with us on a small working farm and puppies grow up with kids, other dogs and a myriad of other animals before they go to their new homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
