Why did you start breeding?
My beautiful chocolate dapple, Frankie, has changed my life forever. We brought him home, then knew we needed another dachshund.. and another... And somewhere along the way, I started studying deep into the rich history and overall health of the dachshund breed. Furthering the health + vitality of the breed as well as breeding for temperament for family dogs feels so important in today's world.What makes your program special?
We are a small, family-focused breeding program raising health tested Mini Dachshunds in the heart of West Tx. Our puppies are raised in our home, on our farm, and alongside our children. Getting a puppy from Shea

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Shea partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“AKC or CKC Limited Registration, Breeding Rights can be discussed for an additional fee. Puppy will come dewormed with age-appropriate shots, microchipped, and well loved. Deposits are non-refundable to ensure serious buyers only. This holds your puppy until pick-up and the remaining balance is due the same day as pick-up.”

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
