I'm Carol G., the breeder behind Cattal Corgis located in Murchison, TX. Our Corgis are very loving & have great temperaments. They get along well with children, dogs & other animals. Q. & A. with Carol

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up around Collies. My mom raised, bred and showed Rough Coated Collies. I grew up bottle feeding and caring for puppies and mom had me in the ring showing the collies at a young age.
  • What makes your program special?

We feel health testing is very important. All potential parents are tested prior to breeding. They have their eyes examined by a CERF/CAER certified ophthalmologist, OFA (Hips) rating (Fair or better), & are tested for vWd & DM. The puppies are tested individually for vWd, DM & have eyes examined by a CAER/CERF certified ophthalmologisteye exam prior to going to their Furever Homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, red, sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Carol was wonderful to work with. She is a true expert at not only the Corgi breed, but also at finding a great match between owner & dog temperament. When we initially inquired about her recent litter, she was very thorough at walking us through her process, how she evaluates each puppy, and how she pairs them with their forever homes. She ultimately paired us with Rocky, now known as Wrangler, who has been a fantastic addition to our family. Like most Corgis, he is high energy but he is also so welcoming and attentive to people. We got the opportunity to attend a Puppies & Yoga class in Dallas as the first time we met our new pup and during that, we got to see his personality on display. He made a point to spend quality minutes with every person in the room, earning himself the affectionate nickname of “The Mayor.” He was a perfect fit: outgoing and social, while still making a point to enjoy his time with others, even strangers. When we went to pick him up from Carol’s home, she diligently walked us through the care routine she had for them and provided solid advice and guidance on how to care for him. And after he came home, she’s been wonderful in assisting us with feedback and advice as we’ve needed it. We’ve already recommended Carol & Cattal to our friends and will continue to do so moving forward. Thank you, Carol, for pairing us with the perfect new addition to our family!

I had an exceptional experience working with Carol when I got my Pembroke Welsh Corgi boy. From the start, Carol guided me through the process and even selected the perfect puppy for me. This was my first time getting a puppy on my own and it was a great experience. She kept me updated regularly with pictures and videos, and is always available to answer any questions I have, ensuring I felt confident and excited as I await the date for pickup. Carol’s expertise and care for her dogs really showed, and I felt completely supported every step of the way. When I finally brought my puppy home, I was thrilled with his fantastic temperament, which is a testament to Carol’s commitment to raising well-adjusted, happy puppies. Now, six months later, having my Corgi has been an absolute blast! He’s such a joy—playful, loving, and well-mannered—and it’s clear that Carol put a lot of thought and care into matching him with me. The whole experience has been wonderful, and I’m so grateful to Carol for helping me find such an amazing companion. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a breeder who truly cares about the puppies she raises and the families they go to.
