I'm Deborah H., the breeder behind Cedarglen English Cockers located in San Luis Obispo, CA. I am a professional breeder of English Cocker Spaniels. I breed to the ECSCA standards, and it is my goal to better the breed. Our dogs are bred to produce healthy, sound, and versatile pups. Our ultimate goal is to produce athletic and well-structured canines that can excel within various performance venues and have the ability to be the greatest family companions.

Cedarglen English Cockers is dedicated to only breeding dogs that we know are excellent representations of the standard and will make a positive contribution to their line and to the families who love them. This magnificent breed stole our hearts from the very beginning, and we hope you fall in love with them as much as we have!What makes your program special?
We take responsible breeding very seriously. As breeders, we are stewards of the future of the breed, so we are careful to always have ethical breeding practices. This includes proper health testing, intentional breeding for specific traits, and raising our puppies with proper socialization. It would be our pleasure to introduce you to your next puppy!Where do your breeding dogs live?

Parent health testing
Excellent level

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS), Familial Nephropathy, Cocker Spaniel Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
