Meet the breeder

I'm Emily G., the breeder behind Cemcade Dachshunds located in Richmond, KY. Breeding for health, conformation & temperament from quality lines; for companion & select show homes. Multi generation health screening has been carefully recorded allowing us to be as proactive as possible in protecting puppies from undesirable attributes that could & should be avoided.

Q. & A. with Emily

  • Why did you start breeding?

As a lifelong dog lover, working as a veterinary assistant was an obvious choice. Sadly, I observed irresponsible breeding practices & the undue suffering it caused. This ignited my calling to breed preservation of the dachshund - prioritizing health & function is always top of mind. My heart’s passion is exhibited in each of the healthy, high quality puppies produced under my care and program.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are active family members in our home. I perform ENS (early neurological stimulation) ESI (early scent introduction), worm biweekly, and ensure first vaccinations are administered by our veterinarian. I feed premium foods and ensure developmental milestones are obtained. No amount of effort or expense is spared in our efforts to produce quality, healthy dogs for companion & show.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, brindle, black and tan, chocolate and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Emily

Emily has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Emily partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape.

“I take great care in matching each puppy with their future family based on thorough temperament evaluations rather than simply color or gender preferences. While those traits can be appealing, they don’t determine how a puppy will integrate into a home or lifestyle long-term. By focusing on personality, energy level, confidence, and individual needs, I’m able to create thoughtful, intentional pairings that set both the puppy and family up for success. This approach is not only more responsible—it’s the most ethical way to ensure a lasting, harmonious fit for the next 15+ years.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $800 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Our experience with Emily was exceptional from the beginning. We had never purchased from a breeder before and had only done basic research about dachshunds before deciding on Little Legs Miniature Dachshunds. Emily guided us through the entire process, answering so many questions and giving great recommendations. By the time we picked up our pups, we felt confident that we could provide just the kind of life this breed needs. We highly recommend Little Legs Miniature Dachshunds. Emily's love for her animals, expertise about the breed, and wonderful communication throughout made the process easy and enjoyable.

Emily was wonderful. She sent me regular updates on my pup and truly is such a reliable and knowledgeable breeder. She took such wonderful care of my best friend while he grew big and strong to come to his forever home. I couldn’t be happier with this experience and with my new baby boy!

I am beyond pleased with my experience with Little Legs Miniature Dachshunds. Emily kept me informed with daily updates and pictures of our precious Twix. She was communicative and helpful with any questions, comments, or concerns I had. Twix is the most well tempered puppy and he is so smart, he needed no adjustment period. I know that is because of Emily who loves these babies as if they are hers forever. She pours so much love and affection into them and it shows!
