Meet the breeder

I'm Billy R., the breeder behind Chadwick Farms Mini Dachshunds located in Fort Worth, TX. Our dogs are kept inside our home and have lots of room outside to exercise and play. All of our breedings are planned and not by accident. We breed for quality, conformation, color, temperament, and are well socialized from the beginning until the time they leave our loving home.

Q. & A. with Billy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have had Miniature Dachshunds since the age of 17. Several years ago a friend started to raise Minis and I would assist her and got more and more involved. After meeting many other breeders, I realized that most were not concerned about the health of the breed and were mostly breeding for quantity and not quality. I began my own research and met a wonderful mentor that has guided my success.
  • What makes your program special?

Chadwick Farms Mini Dachshunds breeding program has lots of time and effort put into providing you with the best pet. We breed for colors, ensure that we are raising healthy puppies, research genetics, and provide a socialization program within the first week of being born. We have a well-designed program for vaccinations and worming from week 1 to going home. Our babies are all raised indoors.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, cream, chocolate, brindle, black and tan, chocolate and cream, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Billy was the best breeder I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! Not only is my sweet Maisey perfect, but the entire process of adopting her went beautifully. Billy was more than willing to work with our timing and even met us halfway for pickup. Thank you so much for making this such a sweet experience!

Billy was so so helpful during this process! He answered any question I had and made everything very easy and straightforward. He provided a goody bag to send us home with and went above and beyond with making sure my puppy was going to be all set as soon as we had her! He made sure to give us additional information and opened communication after we had her in case of any questions coming up later on.

We recently had the pleasure of purchasing a Mini Dachshund from Chadwick's Farm, and we couldn't be happier with the experience! From the start, Bill was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all our questions and made sure we understood everything about the puppy's background, health, and care. Our new Mini Dachshund, Indy, is not only adorable but also healthy and well-socialized, which speaks volumes about the breeder's commitment to the well-being of their animals.

I picked up Remy in March and he has been a funny character and delight to get to know ever since. Bill was great about going over all the details, and the process was easy. Remy is a beautiful boy, and I’d recommend Bill to anyone wanting to take part in the fun of a dachshund puppy.
