Meet the breeder

I'm Rachel W., the breeder behind Charmm Dachshunds located in Litchfield, IL. Our dogs are all AKC registered, certified OFA health tested, and examined by our vet at least one time annually and each dog must pass highest health testing standards to be part of our breeding program. We are AKC and Illinois state inspected and found in full compliance. Puppies always leave our care with wellness exam by our vet and a two year health guarantee. They are handled daily from birth until leaving our home to ensure well rounded socialized puppies. Our desire is to exceed your expectations in adding your next family member to your home.

Q. & A. with Rachel

  • Why did you start breeding?

Growing up, we had Dachshunds and raised just a few litters here and there and since then I have always owned at least one. After 17 years in the banking industry, I decided to pursue my passion and love for breeding full time.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are part of our family and a joy to be with. They are always kept up to date on all vaccines, seen by a vet every six months and fully health tested with OFA certifications. They are always allowed indoor/outdoor access. We are inspected by AKC and found 100% in compliance in July 2019 and October 2024. We are also a member of the AKC Bred with Heart program.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include sable, cream, red, black, chocolate, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and cream, and dapple. Golden Retriever puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Rachel was so responsive from day 1! She sent me regular updates about Remi and was very flexible with pickup dates. Her husband flew to meet us at Newark airport, and the price for that service was super reasonable. You can tell Remi was well taken care of before she got to us! Would recommend Charmm dachshunds for sure!!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Charmm Dachshunds. We celebrated Hoagie’s 1st birthday back in July. After a year together, our Hoagie has truly become the light of our lives. He goes everywhere with us, sleeps by our side every night, and is the most confident, loving little companion. He adores playing in daycare and has a pack of bigger cousins he absolutely loves spending time with. Hoagie has been through so much with us in his first year, and we truly don’t know what we would do without him. We are endlessly grateful to Rachel and Chad for not only bringing him into our lives but also for making the entire experience so smooth and special. Their continued responsiveness to any questions we’ve had about Hoagie has been invaluable and shows how much they care about their dogs and families. We’ve recommended Charmm Dachshunds to countless people (and we get asked all the time where Hoagie came from!) because of the joy this little guy has brought us. We’re already dreaming of adding a sister or brother for him once we move into our new home, and we wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Thank you, Rachel and Chad, for giving us our perfect boy.
