I'm Lauren J., the breeder behind Cherry Creek Dachshunds located in Lehi, UT. Welcome to our program! We are passionate about raising exceptional Longhaired Mini Dachshunds! Here at Cherrycreek our puppies are loved and from day one! Our dogs are first and foremost our companions, and we believe the best puppies come from parents who have wonderful temperaments and structure!

Why did you start breeding?
My passion for breeding began with my upbringing on a farm, where my family raised and bred Australian Shepherds. Growing up surrounded by dogs gave me a deeper appreciation of responsible breeding. As an adult that lifelong love of dogs inspired me to start my own breeding program.What makes your program special?
I pour an incredible amount of love, time, and dedication into every puppy. I intentionally keep my program small so each dog and litter receive individual attention from birth! My puppies are raised in my home where they are handled daily and exposed to everyday household noise. Helping them become confident, well socialized companions.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
