I'm Susan A., the breeder behind Chesamo Chesapeakes located in Orrington, ME. I am committed to building good working dogs that are smart, focused and athletic, yet at the end of the day settle down with their owners. All our dogs are bred to produce good temperment, breed correct confirmation, and to be good team players.
Q. & A. with Susan
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding to produce dogs that exemplify the best characteristics of the Chesapeake breed. I was looking to improve temperment and trainablity, and found focused and selective pairing could make a difference.
What makes your program special?
I work my dogs, and travel all over the country to exhibit them, searching for other breeding candidates who exemplify what I like in my dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include deadgrass, brown, and sedge. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
