I'm Hannah W., the breeder behind Ciel Vivant Kennels located in Louisa, VA. I am extremely dedicated to preserving and bettering my breed. All of my breeding animals undergo extensive health testing to ensure they will contribute positively to the gene pool. They are then paired carefully to complement each other so that I can produce the best quality puppies possible.
Q. & A. with Hannah
Why did you start breeding?
When I got my first French Bulldog and beloved pet, Julien, I was instantly enamored and knew I would be dedicated to these little clowns. Unfortunately, he would not have been suitable for breeding for several reasons, so when he was an adult, I neutered him. When Charlotte came into my life, I noticed so much promise in her health and personality that I considered her a breeding prospect.
What makes your program special?
I health test far beyond what the grand majority of French Bulldog breeders in North America do. With the rise in popularity of the breed in the past few decades, so many people have decided to breed them without considering the health and wellbeing of their breeding stock, the quality of the puppies being produced, or the public perception of the breed when they often see unhealthy examples.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
