Q. & A. with Leigh Ann

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I was a teenager, I helped out a farm where the owner bred labs. I helped whelp the puppies and care for them. I had so much fun and learned so much doing it. When I bought my first Australian Shepherd, I fell in love with the breed and knew that I wanted to share the breed with others.
  • What makes your program special?

We strive to produce healthy, family dogs. We put a lot of work into our program and making sure our puppies are going to make great members of your family.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Leigh Ann was incredibly helpful from the very first message! She was responsive and helped my husband and I pick which puppy would be the best fit from across the country. She was very flexible and accommodating in making arrangements for pick up of our girl Dolly (previously Brie) and kept us updated weekly with photos and videos. It's obvious Leigh Ann cares deeply about these dogs/puppies and I can't think of a better person to work with to find a new addition to the family.

Our family had a wonderful experience finding our puppy with Leigh Ann and Cimmarun Farm Aussies. We had spent several months trying to determine what breed to search for, whether or not to adopt, etc. After speaking with Leigh Ann, it was clear we had found the right fit. Leigh Ann emphasizes temperament and home/farm life balance with her puppies. This was really important to us since we have 4 young children and property- We wanted a dog that was highly intelligent, social, and wasn't as prone to wandering as some other breeds are. We spoke with Leigh Ann for a while and learned the puppies are actually raised int he home, and around the farm- getting the best of both worlds. However, our timing with this litter was not great since we had an upcoming trip that we couldn't change. Leigh Ann then offered to watch our new puppy for us the week we were planning to travel. This is not typical in any way, but it is a testament to how much love and attention she gives to her puppies. I would highly recommend working with Leigh Ann. The dogs are healthy, happy, and full of joy. You can tell they are bred to become wonderful companions in your home or farm. Thank you Leigh Ann, Ricotta is a blessing to our family.

I found them on an app called good dog. They were personable and responded quickly. They even sent pictures and videos of the dog so I knew who exactly I was getting. I love my little dog and thank Leigh for uniting me with him.

Cimmarun Farm Aussies completed our family. We got our lovely girl, Echo, from them & we couldn’t be happier. It is so obvious to us that Echo (once named Tricia) had been treated so wonderfully in her time with Leigh Ann and her litter mates. She has adjusted well in our home so far. She has been with us for almost 2 weeks. She’s already learned some basic commands, sit, down, spin, bed, crate, touch, two paws. We are learning roll over, but I’m teaching her to do it when we say “Bang, Bang!” She is so loved already. We started posting all of our training on TikTok should you ever want to see how smart she is getting!
