Q. & A. with Karla

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the breed about 6 years ago when we brought home our first Newfoundland, Bella. We were so happy with her temperament and love for people that we couldn't stop at just one.
  • What makes your program special?

All of our pups receive sensory and early neurological stimulation exercises. Along with the health testing, we are geared to offer you healthy puppies.

Karla was amazing to work with. Kept me well informed and sent me regular pictures and updates. She was easy to schedule with and has lots of experience with Newfoundlands! I’m hoping to work with her again in the future.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Karla. She was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and kind throughout the entire process. It’s very clear how invested she is in the health and well-being of her puppies—she kept us constantly updated with photos and videos and paid close attention to each dog’s needs. Our puppy came home already comfortable with a crate and well on the way with potty training, which made the transition so much easier. She was always willing to answer questions and help with anything that came up. We couldn’t be happier and will absolutely be using her again if we decide to add another Newfie to our family.

I’ll start this with a little back story, my wife had a Newfoundland when I met her. We lost her at 10 years old. My wife was devastated. She couldn’t get another one for years. This year she decided was the year she was ready. First we found someone local, as we live in Colorado. We felt like that was a scam because they were acting weird. So we finally came across Karla. She kept us updated through Facebook and text, as ours grew. My wife named him Bruce Wayne because she is a big Batman fan. We received pictures and videos of him playing with his siblings and parents. The day came and we drove to Minnesota to pick him up. Karla and her husband were the nicest people. It was clean where they kept the puppies. The babies were happy and healthy. She even wanted us to keep her updated on how he’s doing here and continue sending pictures. We are so thankful that we chose Claypits and we will always look to them for any future Newfoundland puppies.
