I'm Michele & Joy B., the breeder behind Clearvu Kennels located in Amherst, VA. We have been blessed to have such wonderful family companions in our lives and look forward to sharing some of our passion with you. From conformation to hunting to just snuggling on the couch after a long day. All of our dogs are cared for like my children.

Why did you start breeding?
I actually started in horses - and fell in love with collies as a family pet. I have been showing/breeding dogs for over 30 years now.What makes your program special?
My family and I have been breeding, exhibiting and loving collies for over two decades. In more recent years my family and I have added Golden Retrievers to our home.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Collie puppies include rough and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Collie puppies include blue merle and white, black white and tan, sable merle and white, and sable and white. Golden Retriever puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Michele & Joy
Michele & Joy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
“Price is dependent upon our cost to raise the litter to eight weeks. This is exceptionally variable and also dependent upon how many live pups in a litter. We ask for a non-refundable $500 once pregnancy has been confirmed by sonogram. The balance is due when the puppies are six weeks old. Must be prior to pick up.”

Michele & Joy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Dermatomyositis
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Skyler is doing great. He is very intelligent which makes him much easier to train as a service dog. He also is very sharing. He will wait his turn to get his treats without ever shoving in to get them all. I’ve always had to spend a lot of time to teach that to my other dogs.

Michele was great to work with! She was quick to answer my many questions and kept me updated as he grew. She was also helpful with getting him home as we live out of state.
