I'm Susan D., the breeder behind Clover Hill Yorkies located in Berlin, NH. At Clover Hill, we take pleasure in the charming personalities and beautiful faces of our dogs. But, our primary focus has ALWAYS been optimal health. Our goal is to bring you a sweet, happy little dog who will provide many years of loving companionship.
Q. & A. with Susan
Why did you start breeding?
The interest in breeding came quite by accident while looking for my own first pet Yorkie. I ended up purchasing my first presumably show quality male and things evolved from there. I learned there are a lot of dishonest people out there selling dogs and determined to do better.
What makes your program special?
One of the best predictors of good health in an animal is sound parentage, and championship dogs have undergone hundreds of trials, tests, and examinations on the road to titled status. They have been repeatedly reviewed by non-partisan experts. These dogs have been judged to be supreme examples of the Yorkshire Terrier ideal.
We also embrace a careful breeding philosophy. Only a limited number of puppies are born each year. This helps to ensure that every dog receives the care and individualized attention necessary for proper socialization.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
