Colockum Australian Shepherds

Paige B.

Breeder of Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Paige B., the breeder behind Colockum Australian Shepherds located in Entiat, WA. All our dogs are genetically tested and have their hips, elbows, knees and eyes cleared before being considered for breeding. All puppies go through the Puppy Culture program and are raised in the house. We have pups in Canada, Germany and throughout the U.S., and they have excelled in all venues. This breed is not meant for apartment life. They are a very active dog and without proper mental and physical stimulation and become destructive and/or aggressive.

Q. & A. with Paige

  • Why did you start breeding?

I've always been interested in working dogs for their intelligence and activity level. I got started with Australian Shepherds about 20+ yrs ago. I love the breed and started showing, then trying out different venues of the dog show world. I’ve been watching the breed get slowly divided into the show dog and the stock dog. I introduced both lines into my breeding program. These dogs were meant to be versatile and able to do it all. I strive to not only improve my breeding dogs, but also stay very close to the breed standard.
  • What makes your program special?

We believe in puppies being reared properly. Litters are born and nurtured in our home. We spend a lot of time, during the first eight weeks, handling and exposing puppies to different stimuli, new experiences, and people. Each and every puppy receives a lot of love, playtime and attention.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
