I'm Margie B., the breeder behind Commander Collies located in Cleveland, TX. I'm a passionate, ethical, and dedicated breeder that focuses on preserving, protecting, and maintaining the standards of this magnificent breed. It is important to me not only that I preserve my own phenomenal bloodlines, but that I am improving this breed with each litter and ensuring the well-being of these dogs for generations more to come. My knowledge of dogs goes way back and my love for them goes even further. I look forward to helping you find the puppy of your dreams!
Q. & A. with Margie
Why did you start breeding?
When Harley passed, I started to research Collies and noticed that I was attracted to some lines more than others. I later realized that they were Show Collies of the Beauty Families! I became intrigued with the idea of getting a Collie to show, and after some research, hard work, and dedication, I was able to find my first show dog. I listened to my mentors and made him the best he could be - and it paid off! He became a champion at only 23 months old. Fast forward, and the rest is history! I hope to honor the breed while also trying to preserve and perpetuate the beautiful Brandwyne type Fluffies--Texas-style.
What makes your program special?
We are an ethical hobby breeding program with a great amount of education and experience in breeding healthy, happy, quality Collies. I work with integrity. I believe that as an ethical breeder, I have the responsibility to breed dogs as healthy as possible. I also focus on beauty, intelligence, and great temperaments. Collies have so much love to give, and I want them to be able to share that love for as long as possible with their new owners!
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
