I'm Kris H., the breeder behind Commander Labradors located in Corpus Christi, TX. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. Early Neurological Stimulation is done on every puppy. All of our animals live in our home at all times. They are loved and treated like children.
Q. & A. with Kris
Why did you start breeding?
We got into breeding after a difficult search for a well-bred dog that came from thoroughly health tested & titled parents. We were surprised to find a shortage of such breeders. We believe that a dog should only be bred if it will better the breed. If it is not physically & temperamentally sound, its bloodlines should not be continued. We love Labradors & want them to thrive as a breed.
What makes your program special?
All of our dogs have OFA certified hips/elbows. They all have annual CAER eye certifications. They all have echocardiograms done on their heart and are OFA certified. They are thyroid tested. We do an embark panel on every dog to ensure it is free from all genetic diseases. All of our female are 100% clear from genetic diseases. They are also Champions or Grand Champions in the show ring.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Reese
Reese is a female Labrador Retriever. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Kris decided to make her part of their program. Kris has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Dixie, mom
Labrador Retriever
About Dixie
Dixie is a dual registered AKC and UKC Labrador retriever. She is a UKC Grand Champion and finished 2022 as the number 5 Labrador in the United States. Her temperament is phenomenal. She is a high drive dog with an incredible off switch. She can be a couch potato or out dock diving, chasing birds, and playing a mean game of fetch. She's wonderful with children and other animals. She is such a blessing to our family, and many nights our children are debating over who gets to snuggle with her on the couch.
