I'm Luke S., the breeder behind Copper Clover Labradors located in Knightdale, NC. We are a small family breeder of fox red (yellow) Labrador Retrievers. All of our dogs are OFA and genetically health tested. The goal of my program is to produce the perfect family pet. We have show lines and working lines, and some of our dogs are certified therapy dogs as well.

Why did you start breeding?
I grew up with an extremely sick, temperamental rescue dog. When I found out I could breed healthy dogs that wouldn't have any of the problems that my dog had, I was sold. Through my dog training, I discovered Puppy Culture, which helps give my puppies a confident and curious personality.What makes your program special?
Since I am also a dog trainer, I do my best to get them prepared to come home. I give them a head start on potty training, crate training, and clicker training. I desensitize them to fireworks, thunderstorms, etc. They also get introduced to water and lots of people. I want to give you the most well-rounded pup possible.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
