Meet the breeder

I'm Maggie H., the breeder behind Copper Top Aussies located in Crystal River, FL. Before anything else our dogs are our pets and best friends. Our goal is to raise happy, healthy, loyal dogs who have great temperaments. We follow safe breeding standards and only breed breed standard dogs with excellent temperaments and traits we wish to pass down to their offspring.

Q. & A. with Maggie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always had a love for dog and knew I wanted to work with them in some way. When I met my mother-in-law and found out she was an Australian Shepherd breeder I was very interested in what she was doing. Eventually she offered to be my mentor and get me started to continue her legacy. I leaped at the opportunity and the rest is history!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Thank you to Maggie from Copper Top Aussies. Our little boy is named Teddy, and we are so happy with him. He is full of energy, and fits in so well with our little family, and has even brought new life into our 10 year old elderly Standard Poodle “Bones”. For the first two weeks Bones had an attitude of leave me alone little man, as he was not himself very energetic, but then he began playing with Teddy, and now they both have a great time, and Bones is no longer a couch potato, and loves every minute. Teddy loves going with us when we go fishing, and loves playing tug of war with Bones. He is learning to play ball, and something so very important, is that he is now house trained at 4 months old. He learned quickly, and responded very well with positive training. Thanks again Maggie from Copper Top for making this possible.

Maggie was great to communicate with and was so quick when it came to all the questions I had. She went through the process so smoothly even when it being my first time using Good Dog! We were truly blessed to come across her and have Beau with us now! :)

Copper Top Aussies delivers the best Aussies. I have a 10 week old Red Merle girl who is so sweet, healthy , and spunky. She’s a real talker! Maggie made the process easy and comfortable. Monet fits in so well in this family. She has a big sister Mavis and a nephew Marc. She is a fabulous puppy and is very intelligent. Thank you Copper Top Aussie. My heart has grown bigger❤️
