I'm Tanya S., the breeder behind Corner Crest Labs located in North Plains, OR. At Corner Crest Labs, we raise just one litter every few years, treating each puppy like family. Our English Labs are show-quality with champion pedigrees, health clearances, ENS, and daily socialization to ensure they thrive in their forever homes.
Q. & A. with Tanya
Why did you start breeding?
We’ve had English Labs in our family since 2000 and always dreamed of breeding. A few years ago, with the right dog, the right place, and guidance from wonderful mentors, we began raising puppies in a loving, nurturing environment, applying the best practices in every step of their early lives.
What makes your program special?
Our program is unique because we raise just one litter per mama every few years, allowing us to give each puppy deep, personal attention. Families can follow their pups from day one with daily updates, and we focus on ENS, novel experiences, and plenty of socialization to help them thrive in their forever homes.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Corner Crest Labs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), DNA Disease Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
