I'm Karla N., the breeder behind Cottage Doodles located in Lawrence, KS. These pups are raised in a loving home with lots of attention. I work with the pups throughout each day to teach them skills they will need to be happy with their new families and the new families will be happy with them. I want to make sure they are easy to train, well-rounded, and well loved.
Q. & A. with Karla
Why did you start breeding?
25 years ago, I fell in love with a Yorkie pup and eventually bred her. With each litter, I learned more and more and realized how much you can teach a small baby to have it ready for a good life with its new family. I love seeing how eager the pups are to learn and how well adjusted they can be with the right guidance, no matter what the breed of dog is.
What makes your program special?
Over the years, we often give dogs to family and friends so I can watch them grow up, and stay a part of their lives. I feel like I can keep learning about how to raise pups by watching the puppies I bred become adults. Sending a dog to a new home is a lifetime commitment, and I want my pups to be ready for their new life by preparing them to my best ability.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include petite, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate, black, phantom, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
