Q. & A. with Stef
Why did you start breeding?
My mom Thornacre Collies started showing dogs when I was just four years old, I showed my first dog at 9. I went all through 4 H showing and breeding Collies handling classes. I'm 59 years young now.
I have a love for many breeds and decided to go for the mountain dog breed and fell in love with my first Newfoundland after reading a book on my ancestor Lewis Wetzel and his Newfoundland Seaman that made history Lewis and Clark expedition. Since then my love for Newfs became strong and love to work with these big beautiful dogs in water training ,competitions, water rescue and service dogs.
What makes your program special?
Tender loving care our puppies are raised right in our home were we can give constant love and attention.
We breed for standard AKC guidelines for health and beautiful babies.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and black, black, brown, and gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

All my life I have wanted a water dog. Specifically a Newfie. I’ve spent my life on the water and wanted a companion to enjoy it with. I have never purchased a dog. I have always adopted. It was a scary step to take, and I took that step with Country Magik and found my Jrulene, aka, Jrules. Stef was amazing to work with. She stayed in contact with me through the whole process and even shared photos along the way. I had the opportunity to meet the parents and wonderful family who nurtured her to be the best dog she can be.
