I'm Hope H., the breeder behind Craig Creek Aussies located in New Castle, VA. My aussies live in my home with me. They are my family. On occasion I may have pups to offer. My focus when choosing breeding dogs is on health and strong structure. I love my dogs and am passionate about raising my puppies to be the best family companions. The puppies are born and raised in my home, until they go home!
Q. & A. with Hope
Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to share the love and loyalty that these dogs give with people and families. I only have pups on occasion. Once they are about 3 years old and start to calm some, it's like they are another human. They start to learn words that you say, so be careful!!!! :)
What makes your program special?
The pups are raised in my home and handled daily. They are litterbox trained which helps with potty training. I brush them, keep their nails trimmed, they listen to music day and night, I do repetitive things so they get used to things for the future. I also introduce them to loud noises and other people.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Craig Creek Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
