I'm Tiffany N., the breeder behind Cross Bay Labradors located in Granby, CT. Cross Bay began in 1992. Breeding that exemplifies type, temperament with correct structure . Our puppies flourish as companions but also excel in the field and show. I'm proud to have bred the '23/24 Number 1 AKC MinPin Westminster & National Best of Breed winner GCHS RBIS Marlex Miss Marvel.

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to start showing dogs, I had trained my first dog in field and obedience, achieved titles in both, but he didn’t have the structure to show or breed, so my next girl I did all of that, but she had a hereditary eye defect so I had to start all over again. I was fortunate that one of my breed mentors gave me a chance on what became my foundation, everything goes back to her. I’m grateful.What makes your program special?
I breed for correct structure and that easy-going biddable temperament. Over the years a correctly built dog will hold up better to the rigors of time than one that is poorly angulated. However, it has to have a foundation of good health behind it and a temperament that is a joy to live with, not be a challenge to train. It doesn’t matter how pretty it looks if it is uncontrollable.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis (HNPK), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
