Q. & A. with Sandra

  • Why did you start breeding?

I regularly participate in conformation shows and started breeding to continue and improve upon my incredible Collie line. I am very proud to be breeding these incredible dogs. It is important to me that I am breeding versatile, well-rounded, socialized, and healthy pups for my buyers to welcome into their homes and hearts.
  • What makes your program special?

I am very dedicated to what I do and what I am trying to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion, heart, and integrity, and I truly want what's best for the Collie line. I love these dogs and always want the very best for my puppies and their forever families. I am learning constantly from colleagues and mentors. Health testing and DNA testing my dogs is an important part of my breeding program to ensure the health of generations to come.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 2 (rcd2), Dermatomyositis, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
