I'm Susan C., the breeder behind Crout Kennels located in Gilbert, SC. We ensure the health of our puppies by first completing genetic health screenings of their parents. Our puppies are born in our home and become integral members of our family. They’re a daily part of everything we do until they’re ready to join their forever families.

When Birdie walks in the room the puppies immediately smell her! They know that dinner time is near!!

Happy Monday! As you can tell, the pups are much more mobile, and vocal! A big move will be happening this weekend for the babies as we transition them to the puppy house. They will have a bigger play space and start potty box training. Next week we introduce puppy mousse then solid foods. They are changing and growing every day!!

Thankfully they didn’t have to wait long!!

Birdie is such a patient Mama, unlike her “starving” children!!

The pups all have their eyes open and are now mobile. It’s so cute to watch them starting to bear weight on those little legs and wobble all over the Whelping box. They got their first dose of dewormer last night and did great! They are such a joy!!

Pups are getting more mobile every day. Early neurological stimulation and scent introduction has begun, as well as nail trims. We are also adding toys/road blocks to the Whelping box so that pups will learn to maneuver around obstacles to find Mom.

About Birdie
Birdie is the perfect mix of active and chill. She loves swimming and the water and if there is any water nearby, she will find it. Birdie loves to cuddle in the bed with her human and does not realize that she is not a lapdog. She gets along well with other dogs and humans. She has the drive and motivation needed to be a great hunting dog and companion.
