I'm Ashley H., the breeder behind Crown & Tress Shih Tzu located in Xenia, OH. We are dedicated to breeding exceptional Shih Tzus with an emphasis on health, temperament, and stunning appearance. Raised in a loving home environment, they are well-socialized, and are trained on a puppy curriculum and ready to become cherished members of your family.   • Why did you start breeding?

    Crown & Tress Shih Tzu, based in Wilberforce, Ohio, began from a deep love and appreciation for the Shih Tzu breed. My journey started with my first Shih Tzu, whose charm, loyalty, and beautiful coat captured my heart. Inspired by this wonderful experience, I decided to share the joy that Shih Tzus bring by starting my own breeding program.

  • What makes your program special?

    At Crown & Tress Shih Tzu, we are proud to offer a unique and exceptional breeding program that stands out in several ways. Our Shih Tzus live on our charming hobby farm in Wilberforce, Ohio, where they enjoy the best of both worlds: the freedom to explore and play in a natural environment and the comfort of being pampered companions. Our dogs are cherished members of our family, receiving constant love, attention, and care.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, black and tan, chocolate, black, liver, blue, red, and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Ashley

Ashley has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Ashley partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $535 non-refundable deposit and between $2,265 - $2,965 final payment, before taxes & fees.

We require a non-refundable deposit of $535 to reserve your puppy. This deposit applies to the total purchase price and ensures your puppy is held for you.”

Ashley may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Ashley and our puppy ‘princess ocean’ are both fantastic. For being newer to breeding Ashley is very knowledgeable and from another breeders standpoint she is a great addition to the Shih Tzu community. Everything went very smoothly, and ‘princess ocean’ is adjusting well. She’s very confident with sounds and people. The only thing we’re struggling with is potty training, it’s GREAT that she was started in crate training before coming home to us because it has definitely helped us create a potty schedule. She’s very smart, I have no doubts she will get the hang of it soon. 🙏🏻❤️ Thanks again Ashely for working with us and giving us the opportunity to spoil one of your own 💕

    Ashley was hands down THE best breeder. She was kind and patient from the start. She answered any and all questions I had. She agreed to meet halfway so we could see Chip before our family decided. She was spot on with his temperament, and that made the transition to our house a breeze. She has checked up on him frequently after he came home with us. Potty training has been going well, and it didn’t take him long to figure out where he was supposed to go. She gave us pellets to put down outside so he would know where to go from her already set up system. More importantly, crate training has been a breeze. Since day one, he sleeps no less than 6 hours in his crate without a peep! We put the blanket over his crate as suggested and it’s been a huge help! He has not once had an accident in his “den.” I would 100% buy from her again. This has been the most wonderful addition to our family. We’re so in love with Chip.

    Ashley was absolutely AMAZING!! I can’t imagine a better experience. We lost our 15 year old Shih Tzu, Bear in December and we looked for months to find the perfect breeder and the perfect pet. We had high expectations and Ashley exceeded every single one. She was responsive and knowledgeable, but also made the experience so much fun! There pup dates (via FaceTime) and updates, tons of texts and pictures. When we finally met Prince Bleu we already felt connected to him and also to Ashley and her family. She agreed to meet us between Charlottesville and Ohio, shaving four hours off our trip. Ashley also was so helpful in navigating the pick up time around a scheduled vacation. Prince Blue made an easy transition to our home. He arrived well loved and tended to, confident, snuggly and playful. If you are considering getting a pup from Ashley, don’t hesitate!! She and her family made the experience joyful and meaningful. Prince Blue was worth every penny! I couldn’t recommend her more highly! She and her pups are true gems.

    We had an absolutely heartwarming experience with Ashley and her family. Prince Duke Ruston (Now Herman) is fitting in so beautifully in our new home with our senior shih tzu, Pudge. 🐶🐶🤎🐾💚 You can truly tell what a great breeder Ashley is & how deeply she cares about the puppies and that theyre going to genuinely loving, good homes 🏡! We appreciate that she's reached out to see how the puppy is doing since getting home. She made sure we had everything for the puppy! She was willing to work with us on travel and timing to secure our puppy safely ❤️ Herman has been very well tempered and behaved for a puppy. He sleeps through the night. He eats drinks and uses the potty without issue! He has the most beautiful coat and a sweet little puppy bark. He gets the little zoomies. You truly wont regret going with her if youre looking for a trusted shih tzu breeder. The vet said the puppy was in great health too. Our senior shih tzu was from another breeder who did not breed correctly & due to this he was born with an umbilical cord hernia. Our last puppy was also not as well mannered or trained this early on. 🤎❤️Herman has just truly been the biggest blessing to our family right before the holidays 🙏🏻

    Hello Ashley, we had a wonderful experience working with you. Your communication was outstanding. Our sweet boys are doing fantastic. They sleep through the night and only had an accident the first night in the crate. They know to go potty on the pad and they have both learned to come when their name is called. They love each other and are very playful along with being snuggly. We are very happy to have them both as part of our family. Our 11 year old Shih tzu watches from a distance but she is warming up to them. Thank You for taking such good care of them.
