I'm Amanda H., the breeder behind Cuddlehound Kennels located in Dunn Center, ND. Our program focuses on breeding for the health, conformation, intelligence and temperament of our puppies. We ensure health testing, and have 5th generation CH show lines that have proven to be exceptional examples of the breed.
Q. & A. with Amanda
Why did you start breeding?
My first dachshund, Otto, came into my life when I was only eight years old and through the decades that have passed since, honoring his memory been an integral part in the path I've chosen for myself. The bond he and I shared blossomed a love for the breed that inspired me to learn all I could about them and a desire to provide others with the same joy only a dachshund can provide.
What makes your program special?
Most importantly, we are dedicated to producing genetically healthy puppies that have a chance to live full lives and we not only provide a health guarantee, but lifetime support. We choose breeding pairs meant to enhance positive features, working toward improving the breed quality standards. All of our puppies are raised underfoot in our home and are socialized with other dogs and my young son.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, red, brindle, chocolate and cream, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
