I'm Chelsea D., the breeder behind D8 Ranch Border Collies located in Nampa, ID. We run a cattle & sheep ranch. Meg is a beloved part of our family and a huge help with our animals. She has the most calm loving personality and is a go getter at work. Loves to play ANY type of ball, fetch, tug of war, go for long walks and runs, and anything else we do she wants to join in, she aims to please.
Q. & A. with Chelsea
Why did you start breeding?
When we bought Meg we always expected we would breed her (this is her 3rd litter, but the 1st with us). We waited over a year and worked hard to learn and prepare to bring puppies into our family. It has been a wonderful experience and we look forward to meeting the families that our sweet puppies will be blessed to join.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include rough and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, black, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Meg
Stevie (Meg) is a great sheep and cow dog, from a good pedigree, with 100% clear genetic tests. She is loving, friendly, and plays all kinds of ball with us and our kids. She loves to work and aims to please.
D8 Ranch Border Collies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Border Collies.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
