I'm Cordelia R., the breeder behind Dachs of the Bay located in Pocasset, MA. Raised on the beaches of lovely Cape Cod, our home-raised dachshunds are part of our family. We use best practices and genetic screening to ensure puppies are healthy. Puppies are AKC, raised with other dogs, cats, and kids. They come dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and vet checked.

Getting a puppy from Cordelia
Cordelia has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $2,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Price includes deworming, vaccinations, microchip registered with AKC Reunite, vet check, and goodie bag. Deposit will hold your puppy until they are ready to go home.”
Contract & health guarantee
Cordelia may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Strudel is a very sweet and affectionate dog. She enjoys the water, but walks aren't really her thing. She's a low rider and prefers swimming. Strudel loves to be held like a baby and have her tummy rubbed. She is a wonderful family dog who loves my family; I'm thrilled to be able to place her babies with other families.

Sundae is an inquisitive and athletic girl. Unlike her full big sister Strudel, she likes her walks and running on the beach. But like Strudel she also loves her family and is wonderful with people of all ages. She is both playful and cuddly, with an athletic build.

Agave is a sweet and active girl. She is very affectionate with even the youngest children and loves getting attention. While she likes cuddles, she is also an extremely athletic dog - think agility dog levels of athleticism.

Uschi is an up-and-coming dam for our program, out of Strudel. She is a longhaired shaded cream dapple piebald. She has one brown eye like her mom and one blue eye like her dad. Uschi is very athletic, and is down for long walks, running on the beach, swimming, and kayaking. We hope that she will have her first litter in 2023.

Cookie is sweeter than sweet. She is a trained therapy dog visiting nursing homes, hospitals, and schools. She is calm and affectionate.

PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 1 (PRA-crd1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Cordelia was very helpful with helping me choose the right pup for what I was looking for. You can tell she had an amazing heart and wanted the best for all of her litters. Her fur family are all gorgeous and seem to be very well taken care of. I brought home the sweetest little lovebug and he couldn’t be more perfect. We are equally obsessed with eachother - it seems meant to be. ❤️ My husband and I drove to Cape Cod from Upstate NY to get our new baby. He is beautiful like his parents and we couldn’t be more happy with him. It’s been almost a week and a half and our little Ollie has adjusted so well to being home. The whole process was absolutely incredible. Cordelia was very responsive and accommodating with our many, many questions. She kept us updated with photos along the way. Our guy was taught socialization, baths, touching feet and ears before he got to us. He even came trained to pee on reusable pee pads. One thing that really impressed us was the time that she took with us when we picked him up. Thank you so much for choosing us. We are so in love with this little guy. He’s so sweet and full of life.

+8Dachs of the Bay was very responsive and kept me up to date all the way with Nigel (Bob Hope)! They sent pictures often, and let me know when he was getting his baths, nail trims, vet appointments, etc. He is more perfect than I could have ever imagined! Such a sweet boy and adjusted very well to our bigger dogs. Would definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them!
