I'm Lori B., the breeder behind Dachs on the Farm located in San Angelo, TX. My husband (Cris) and I (Lori) have always loved dogs. I am a retired teacher with a masters in agriculture, and my husband works at an agricultural company with an agricultural degree. We are always available to help with any question, no question about dogs is too crazy (training, feeding etc).

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We started with one dachshund and from there it was history. As an agricultural teacher, I love all things science, but moreover dogs have always been a big part of my life. I wanted to give others the gift a a sweet, beautiful companion.

  • What makes your program special?

    At Dachs on the Farm, we glorify God by raising healthy, well-socialized Miniature Dachshunds with integrity and care. Our commitment to ethical breeding, lifelong support, and responsible practices helps us provide loving companions while building lasting relationships with the families who welcome our puppies home.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, black and cream, black and tan, chocolate and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Lori

Lori has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Lori partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $600 non-refundable deposit and between $2,600 - $3,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Includes: AKC purebred, small bag of puppy food, blanket, bowl, collar with bell, AKC puppy packet, tote bag, beginning crate training, socialization with many animals as well as kids/adults. Deposit is none refundable, but is put towards the total cost of the puppy.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Right from the beginning of the process, Lori was a pleasure to work with, always responded quickly, gave constant updates and photos, and was a wealth of knowledge on the breed and helping us feel prepared. I appreciated that Lori wanted to get to know us just as much as we wanted to get to know her and the pups to make sure Olivia would be a good fit for our family (and she fits in perfectly🥰). Lori was also very flexible when it came to pick-up logistics and was willing to drive around 3 hours to meet me to reduce my travel time. After pick up, I could immediately tell that while Olivia was in the care of Lori, she truly cared for her and all of her dogs/pups. Olivia is so sweet, happy, playful, sleeps easily, instantly got along great with our 8year old long haired Penny, and is a model, healthy pup! We couldn’t be happier with our choice to work with Lori and bring home Olivia🩷
