Meet the breeder

I'm Amy G., the breeder behind Dachshund Darlins located in Opelika, AL. Our love for our dogs pushed us to begin breeding. We love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies that we’re able to share with others. All of our puppies are raised in our home and socialized with children, cats and other pets. What do Dachshunds love the most? Dachshunds are loyal to their people. They love to snuggle with you and bring lots of joy to your life! If you love floppy ears, little legs, and big personalities then you will love to have a dachshund complete you're life. They are like lays potato chips; you can't have just one! Lol.

Q. & A. with Amy

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I was 15 years old I got my first mini dachshund. I named her biscuit. She was a red dapple with blue eyes ❤️ my neighbor also had little black and tan male so they fell in love and we decided to have a litter. She had 4 beautiful babies and they brought so much joy to our lives. I had my biscuit for 15 years. ❤️ I have one of her daughters...and now I have one of her grand pup daughters. I'm keeping her bloodline going. They are very special to me. 💖🙂
  • What makes your program special?

I adore Dachshunds💖 they are the absolute best family dogs. Our babies are raised in home socialized with children and other pets. Will have first vet visit before going home. 💞🩵💞
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, sable, red, wild boar, chocolate, fawn (isabella), chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Amy was knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions I had. I have now had Bluebelle for 5 months. She is a great little dog. She has a wonderful disposition. She's also in true dachshund form a little ham.

I loved working with Amy! she helped us welcome adorable Bingo into our lives! She was really helpful providing us with full information and details & quickly answering any question we had. She stayed in touch & was really nice. Getting our bingo was an experience, driving far from home and amy being so understanding & patient no matter the time of how late we might’ve gotten to her & bingo, we are thankful for the little bundle of happiness that Amy was able to help us welcome. Bingo has been a real sweetheart and adapted quickly to our other fur baby and has been really happy, healthy & lovable since day one, it was a pleasure meeting Amy!

Five star experience working with Amy. Start to finish. She even accommodated our delay in picking up Hazel due to an unexpected medical issue. Hazel is a great addition to our family and a lot of fun watching her play and do all things puppy. She loves to sleep up high, especially a human neck🤣. She loves going for an evening golf cart ride. Thank you Amy! And Good Dog.
