I'm Angela R., the breeder behind Dachshunds of the Desert located in Los Angeles, CA. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I used to be a “adopt don’t shop” kind of person but have come to a realization that the slogan can actually promote more dogs in shelters by buying unpredictable dogs from BYB which in turn end up in shelters. I believe a better way to say it is “adopt and shop responsibly”. Ethical breeders that breed within standard and carefully create a line with minimal health issues, great temperaments and overall healthy dogs stay with their family and not the shelter.

  • What makes your program special?

    Although I am just starting out I have a love for the breed and devote myself to keeping the breed great. Dachshunds have been around for awhile and for a reason. Despite their working purpose they still make great companions as they’re extremely adaptable to many kinds of living situations. I care deeply about my own dogs and care about my puppies beyond leaving the nest. I do everything in my power that they have a successful start, health and behavior.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black and tan and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Angela

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies will leave with first round of shots, deworming and vet cleared. Not only do deposits reserve the puppy of your choice it will also go straight back to your puppy ensuring the best quality of care. Puppies will go home with some essentials.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
