I'm Merissa G., the breeder behind Dachshundsnextdoor located in Bartlett, IL. We are dedicated to provide families with puppies that are healthy, Friendly, Outgoing, Loving Pets.

Q. & A. with Merissa

  • Why did you start breeding?

My life has always revolved around animals. I used to be a Vet Tech and very active in rescue and I Believe in responsible breeding as well as responsible rescue. I try to produce the best puppies raised with small children and im always trying to improve and better my program.
  • What makes your program special?

If you want a puppy that will come pre-loved and spoiled then look no further! I spent endless hours researching pedigrees and I'm always striving for the best. This is my passion NOT my income. I'm a full time mom along with running a 3D printing business as well. All my puppy owners claim people stop them on the street or look me up on Facebook just to see when ill have another litter.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
